Project Title: Work Together for i-Reading, i-Learning and i-Sharing

Goals To strengthen IT culture; To promote reading; and To enhance child-parent relationship.
Objectives

To design and create a read/share platform with more than 10,000 e-books and a reading house with updated technology in order to

  • Provide a different way through the media of Information Technology for students to build up the skills for self-learning any time at home or in school.
  • Arouse students' interest in reading books and sharing the knowledge learnt through the new reading environment and the activities organized.
  • Increase parental participation in child development through the read/share platform and the activities organized.
Expected Number of Beneficiaries 1,280 students in Kwun Tong Government Secondary School,
1,280 Families, all teachers in KTGSS and even other schools in Hong Kong.

Products / Deliverables; A database of 10,060 books and a read/share platform.
A Reading House with updated reading facilities.
Students, parents and teachers with experience of using updated technology for reading/sharing.
Students and teachers with knowledge of e-book creation.
Students and teachers of the project team with experience of applying updated IT skills and knowledge for the system development.
Evaluation Methods

Questionnaires, interviews, tests, reports etc will be conducted:

  1. to guide the project progression with clear finite objectives on each stage of the project,
  2. to secure solid achievement foundation along phase to phase, i.e. certain milestone should be met before proceeding to next,
  3. to make sure the goals of the project are met and the project will be carried out as scheduled and money is spent within budget. Progress reports will be available for the public's reference and suggestions for future development are welcome.
