Stepping Up Through 45 Years: KTGSS Community Co-Creation Staircase Mural
To celebrate the 45th Anniversary of our school, the "Stepping Up Through 45 Years: KTGSS Community Co-Creation Staircase Mural" project was recently completed with great success. All 39 steps outside the school gate have been transformed, showcasing the artistic synergy, unity, and deep bonds shared across our school community.
Crowdfunded by Alumni, Designed by Renowned Alumna
We would like to extend our heartiest gratitude to the Alumni Association and our distinguished alumni for their financial support and hands-on dedication, which made this project possible. The mural was designed by our distinguished alumna, Ms. Prudence Mak (founder of "Chocolate Rain"), who, alongside a team of professional tutors, personally guided the painting sessions on-site.
Three Sections of Art: Illustrating Three Themes and Core Values
The mural is divided into three sections, seamlessly blending artistic creativity with our school's educational philosophy:
- Section 1: Highlights the "12 Core Values"—Perseverance, Respect for Others, Responsibility, National Identity, Commitment, Integrity, Benevolence, Law-abidingness, Empathy, Diligence, Unity, and Filial Piety.
- Section 2: Features the key characteristics of KTGSS students—Self-confidence, Spirit to serve, Gratefulness, Kind-heartedness, and Taking initiative—showcasing the virtues of KTGSS students.
- Section 3: Displays the 45th Anniversary theme "In Unity We Learn, In Excellence We Lead" alongside the school crest, symbolizing our collective journey towards excellence.
Intergenerational Co-Creation: Demonstrating the Spirit of "Together We Shine"
During the painting process, the Principal, Vice Principals, teachers, class student representatives, functional team student leaders (including Prefects, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Student Union, and House representatives), as well as Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) parent representatives joined hands in a collaborative relay effort. Working seamlessly together, everyone personally added vibrant colors to our campus, fully demonstrating the spirit of "Together We Shine."
